Decided to skip the $45 airport shuttle in Lisbon and take the metro for $2.10 instead
I was nervous about hauling my bag up all those stairs at the Baixa-Chiado stop, but a local guy just pointed me to the elevator and honestly the whole thing took 35 minutes and I felt dumb for ever considering the shuttle, so now I'm wondering what other 'small splurge' travel habits I should just drop.
How much stuff are you actually packing that you needed to worry about the stairs? That was always my problem, I'd bring a bag so heavy I couldn't lift it. Now I just do carry on and the metro is a total no brainer in most cities. Taxis and shuttles are mostly for when you land at 1am or the city bus system is actually sketchy.
