I finally stopped paying for overpriced airport water
Got stuck at LAX for 6 hours last month and spent $8 on a bottle of water from one of those kiosks. I was so annoyed I looked up if there's a trick to it. Turns out you can just ask any coffee shop or bar for a cup of tap water for free. Has anyone else tried this or do you just bring an empty bottle through security?

The coffee shop trick works. Just walk up to any Starbucks or bar inside the terminal and ask for a cup of tap water. Most of them will fill it up for free. Bringing an empty bottle through security is probably the best move though. Saves you the hassle of finding a place that actually gives it to you without attitude.

Ugh that's rough, I've definitely gotten the side eye from some baristas for asking. Bummer that @the_jana mentioned Starbucks charges now, that used to be my go to move.

Oh actually Starbucks charges for water now in a lot of airports, just so you know.
