Just realized my cheap hostel in Bangkok saved me $12 by not having towels
I was staying at this place near Khao San Road last week and figured I'd just use their towels like every other hostel... nope, they charged 40 baht each time. Found out when the night manager laughed and pointed to a tiny sign behind the door. You guys ever get nickel-and-dimed in weird ways at hostels?

Honestly I get why they do it though. If they included towels for free everyone would trash them and they'd have to replace them constantly. 40 baht is barely a dollar, you probably spent more on a single drink at that hostel bar. Plus you're saving on water and electricity not washing them yourself, so really it's a fair trade. The sign being tiny is annoying but that's on you for not reading the fine print, not the hostel being shady.
