Rant: I saved $400 on a flight to Tokyo by booking on a Tuesday night

Last month I was checking flights every day for a week and the price never moved. Then at 11pm on a Tuesday, the direct flight from LAX dropped from $1200 to $800. I grabbed it instantly. Anyone else find weirdly specific times when airline prices actually drop?
