Vent: My friend's flight hack for Tokyo made me ditch my usual search method
He booked a ticket to Osaka for $400 and took a $20 bullet train, saving $300 versus flying direct. I always just looked at the main airport. Anyone got other city-pair tricks like that?

That Osaka trick adds six hours of travel time, minimum. You're trading a whole vacation day for what, maybe $200 after the train fare? I flew into Frankfurt last year instead of a smaller city and saved two full days just by being where I wanted to start. Time is the real cost people forget to add.
