My aunt told me I was throwing money away on name brand pasta sauce
She pointed out that the store brand had the exact same ingredients but cost $1.50 less at the Kroger in Nashville. I switched and started putting that $6 a month into a savings jar. Now I just check the labels instead of the logos when I shop. Anyone else have a family member call you out on something dumb you were buying?

My buddy used to buy fancy olive oil until his grandma showed him the store brand was the same stuff from the same factory.

Yeah, my friend spent like a year buying premium ketchup until his dad bought them a bottle of the cheap stuff and he couldn't tell the difference in a blind taste test. He was pretty annoyed he'd wasted all that cash.
