My car's alternator went out on the highway last Thursday, cost me $420

I had to dip into my emergency fund, which hurt, but at least I had it. Anyone have tips for rebuilding that cash buffer fast?

Yeah, dipping into the emergency fund stings. My buddy sold a bunch of old video games online after his fridge died, got a couple hundred back fast. Just gotta find that one thing you don't use anymore.

I saw a Reddit post where someone sold old textbooks and made over $300. It's surprising what collects dust and still has value. A quick closet check can really pay off.

Textbooks rarely sell for that much now.
