inShowerthought: A customer from my old shop in Boise called our ground chuck 'too lean' for burgers.
Yeah that "fat is flavor, not a flaw" line is dead on. I was listening to a food podcast a while back and they said the same thing, that a lot of home cooks end up with dry burgers because they're scared of the fat. The guy on the show said 80/20 is basically the sweet spot for keeping it juicy without being a total grease bomb. Makes total sense when you think about it.

inWarning: my neighbor just put up a fence 2 feet onto my property
The guy actually said it looks fine from his side? That's next level audacity. You have the survey in hand and he still tried to blow you off. Getting the surveyor back out is the only move, it shuts down any argument. Be ready for him to get real mad when the official report says he's wrong.

inSerious question, a kid at the local con in Omaha said something that really stuck with me...
Kid's right, and @oliver2, that's why we keep buying them even when the rent's due.

inMy raised bed mix hit a 6.8 pH reading and everything just took off
Yeah that's the whole key to it. My hydrangeas were totally yellow and sad last year. The soil test came back at like 5.2 pH. Added some lime to bump it up, and now they're actually blue. So what specific nutrient gets locked out at low pH that turns leaves yellow? Is it the iron?

inI looked up the actual number of people who signed that petition to get a comedian fired
Media loves a good outrage story, it gets clicks. The actual numbers are almost always tiny but they make it sound like the whole world is angry.
