My neighborhood's new communal garden is cutting everyone's grocery bills
In my experience, the communal garden on Elm Street has helped about ten families save money. We grow tomatoes, lettuce, and herbs, which cuts down on weekly shopping trips. Your mileage may vary, but sharing tools and seeds makes it even cheaper. Take this with a grain of salt, but I've seen our household food costs drop by around 20%.

Honestly that's really cool to hear. Prices are just insane right now, so anything that helps cut down the weekly bill is a major win. Tbh it sounds pretty nice just having that sense of community with your neighbors too. Kinda wish we had something like that going on around here.

My buddy Ben split a cow with three neighbors last year, saved them all like two hundred bucks each on meat. Said the best part was actually getting to know the families on his street for once.
