The 72 Hour rule on grocery apps saved me $38 this month

I kept impulse buying stuff on the grocery delivery app because it was too easy to tap add. So I set a personal rule, anything over $5 goes in a cart and I force myself to wait 3 days before checking out. Found out that about 70% of those items I totally forget about and delete anyway. Last week it stopped me from adding a $22 cheese board I saw in a promo and a $16 pack of fancy sparkling water. The trick works because the craving fades, but the money stays put. Anyone else tried a waiting period like this or do you just shop with a strict list? What stops your impulse buys?

Okay, $22 for a cheese board is wild to me. That's like a whole dinner for a family where I live. I gotta ask, did you actually end up buying the fancy water after the three days, or did that craving fade too? The whole thing sounds like some sneaky mind trick you played on yourself.
