Ditched my monthly planner for a dollar store notebook and a ruler - way more flexible than I expected
I was getting frustrated with those rigid pre-printed layouts that never fit my actual schedule, so I grabbed a $1.50 composition book from Target and a basic ruler, and now I just draw my weekly spreads as I go - has anyone else found that blank pages beat fancy planners every time?

Ain't that the truth? I switched to a plain dot grid notebook a few months back and never looked back.

Dot grid is great don't get me wrong but it's not exactly "plain" since you still have those little dots to guide you. A truly plain notebook has nothing but blank white pages and that's a different beast entirely. Some people love the freedom of a completely empty page but I find it way too easy to write crooked and drift off into chaos. Dot grid gives me just enough structure without feeling locked into lines like ruled paper. It's like the Goldilocks of notebook pages honestly.

Funny enough, I bought a pack of those hardcover blank Moleskines once cause they were on sale. Ended up using like two pages and the rest just sat there staring at me. Dot grid was the real MVP once I finally gave it a shot.
