PSA: My bullet journal tracker almost ruined my vacation in Asheville
I went to Asheville last month for a long weekend and brought my bullet journal like always. I had this whole habit tracker section with tiny boxes for water, steps, reading, you name it. By day two I was stressed because I missed checking off a few boxes due to hiking and just relaxing. I finally sat on the porch of this little cabin and realized I was treating my journal like a chore instead of a tool. So I took a pen and just wrote down what I actually did that day, no boxes or rules. It felt so freeing that now I only use my journal for the bare bones like monthly logs and random notes. Has anyone else had a moment where their system got in the way of the actual living part?

Man, reading that you got stressed on vacation about checkboxes actually makes me cringe. I can't believe you let a notebook boss you around like that during hiking and porch time in Asheville. Glad you snapped out of it before the whole trip was ruined.

Whoa wait, you brought a whole roll of washi tape on a beach trip?

I brought a massive roll of washi tape on a beach trip once and spent two hours sorting it instead of going in the ocean. Sometimes we just need to leave the gear in the car.
