My bandsaw blade snapped on a 40 pound ribeye order and I finished it with a hand saw
Blade gave out 6 cuts into a 12 rib roast order on Saturday morning, so I grabbed the old meat saw and worked through the rest by arm. Took 25 extra minutes but the cuts came out cleaner than I expected, anyone else keep a backup handsaw within reach for days like this?
Man, this is just how life works lately, isn't it? Everything that's supposed to make the job easier breaks at the worst time, and you end up doing it the old way anyway. My dad calls it the backup plan tax. The dishwasher dies so you're standing at the sink for an hour. The riding mower quits halfway through the yard and out comes the push mower. And half the time the old way turns out fine, sometimes even better, which is the funny part. Twenty five minutes of arm work beats waiting on a new blade to ship, that's for sure.
