My new band saw blade snapped on a frozen quarter last month

Everyone says to buy the expensive carbide tipped ones, but this was a brand new one from a big name supplier. It just gave out on a normal cut, no binding or anything. Has anyone else had this happen with a fresh blade on a standard cut?

Man @finleyw99, brutal luck doesn't even cover it. They had a full team wipe with just one health point left on the final boss. The game basically handed them the win and then took it back.
