Old timer at the swap meet told me I'm wasting my time with electric knives

Guy must have been 80, saw me eyeing a used electric knife. He goes 'son, you wanna hack meat or cut it?' Talked my ear off for 15 min about how a good stiff boning knife and proper wrist angle does everything faster. Made me try his old Forschner. Hit different cause I been relying on powered stuff for years. Anyone else ditch electric tools after trying something simple?
