Bought a $60 off-brand air fryer and now I'm confused about the whole 'you get what you pay for' thing
Picked up a cheap air fryer from a discount store in Phoenix for 60 bucks. First batch of fries came out perfect, crispy and golden. Then I tried chicken thighs and they were dry on the outside and raw inside after following the same times. I wonder if the temperature dial on this thing is even close to accurate or if I just got lucky with the fries. Has anyone else had wildly different results with the same budget appliance?

@skyler43 maybe your friend just got a dud, my cheapo air fryer cooks everything even every time.

120 bucks says your thermostat is lying to you. My buddy had a similar one from a Big Lots in Tucson and he tested it with an oven thermometer, said it was off by a solid 40 degrees. That chicken needed way longer at a lower temp most likely.
