My uncle told me to stop serving oat milk and focus on the basics

He said adding fancy options like oat milk in my Santa Monica spot would just cost more and confuse people. I ignored him, added it last spring, and now oat milk drinks make up 30% of my sales. Anyone else have family give them bad cafe advice that you're glad you didn't take?

Disagree with that old school thinking. Customers want choices now and oat milk is a basic for a lot of people. Your sales numbers prove it was the right call.

Oh man, @quinn968 is right. I fought adding oat milk for a year, calling it a fad. Now it's our top seller after regular milk. I guess my "gut feeling" was just indigestion.
