Ngl that startup advice about "just open earlier" really backfired on me

Honestly I was struggling with slow mornings at my little cafe in Pasadena. A buddy who runs a bagel shop told me to just open at 6am instead of 7 and the early birds would roll in. I tried it for three weeks straight and got maybe 4 extra customers total before 8am. Meanwhile my labor costs went up like $400 over that time and I was dead tired by noon. Has anyone else had a "simple fix" from another owner totally flop on them?

Dude, 'sucks' is a bit STRONG dont you think? I mean yeah it's annoying but its not like they took his firstborn. Probably just a minor headache at the new shop. Most people would just shrug it off after a day.
