I was cleaning shutter blades with a cotton swab for years before a guy in a Seattle shop showed me his lens tissue trick.

Cotton swabs are way more precise, honestly.

Wait, what's the lens tissue trick exactly? I've always used swabs too, but now I'm really curious. Does he fold it a special way or use a certain kind of tissue? I feel like I might be missing out on a way better method here.

Saw a video once where a guy folded the tissue into a small, tight point. He used the kind made for cleaning glasses or camera lenses, not regular tissue. The key was using a tiny bit of cleaning fluid on the tip, not soaking it. It looked really good for getting into tight spots without leaving fibers behind. Have you tried looking up any tutorials?
