DAE check the actual fill weight on their sleeping bags?

I found out my 20-degree bag has 24 ounces of down, not the 22 ounces listed on the spec sheet, after weighing the fill myself with a kitchen scale.

Guess I should weigh mine, it probably has the old socks and hope Julia mentioned. My luck usually runs the other way.

Well that's a nice surprise... usually it's the other way around. My last bag felt like it was stuffed with old socks and hope. Guess you won the down lottery this time.

Seriously though, how bad can a bag of down really be? It's just feathers for a coat, not a life or death thing. People act like getting a light bag is some huge win, but it all puffs up the same once it's in the jacket. Maybe we're all overthinking a bunch of fluff.
