Uncle Ron's advice about sleeping pads was dead wrong
He told me a $15 foam pad from Walmart was just as good as an inflatable. Spent 3 miserable nights on the ground in the Smokies before I bought a real one.

It's funny how we'll take one person's word on something without checking if they actually know what they're talking about. Kind of like how everyone's got that friend who swears by ancient phone chargers or thinks their car can go another 10,000 miles on the same oil.
