Dropped $50 on a streaming package for one canceled show and it burned me

I got excited when I heard rumors about 'The OA' possibly getting picked up somewhere. So I bought a month of a niche streaming service for $12 that supposedly had the rights to some similar content. Then I also snagged a $38 DVD set off eBay of a different show that got canceled after one season, thinking it might give me clues. Neither panned out. The streaming service had nothing like I expected, and the DVD set was region locked for my player. Has anyone else wasted money chasing a canceled show revival and ended up with nothing to show for it?

I bought a used Fire Stick for $20 and loaded it with Kodi and some add-ons. Now I can watch any canceled show I want without dropping cash on random DVDs or niche services.

Wait, you put Kodi on a Fire Stick for just $20 and it works for canceled shows?" That honestly sounds too good to be true, I'm a little shocked you didn't run into some weird legal issue or have the thing brick itself. I've heard too many stories about add-ons breaking after a week or getting malware, so I'm amazed it's actually holding up for you.

Stick with a build from a trusted repo and skip the random ones you see on YouTube, that kept my Fire Stick clean for over a year now. I also run a VPN just to be safe, but the add-ons themselves haven't given me malware or anything sketchy surprisingly lol. Just don't update everything the second a new version drops and you'll be fine, mine's still running smooth for all the canceled shows I missed.
