Wasted $50 on a 'fan campaign' for a show that already had a deal
I threw $50 into a crowdfunded billboard campaign to save 'Wonderfalls' back in 2021, only to find out the creator already had a streaming deal in the works. The money went to some random organizer's pocket instead of the actual revival effort. Has anyone else gotten burned donating to a revival push that turned out to be a scam?

Got burned on a Veronica Mars kickstarter years back. Donated for some exclusive merch and the whole thing fell apart, never got a single thing they promised. Still salty about that $75 I'll never see again.

Did they at least send out some kind of email update explaining what went wrong, or did they just ghost everyone? I've seen a few kickstarter disasters where the creators at least tried to refund part of the money or offered a digital apology. Curious if this was a total silence situation or if they gave some excuse before disappearing.

Wait, they seriously didn't even send out one email update? That's crazy to me, like even a half-baked excuse would have been better than just going silent. I mean, people paid real money for promises and they just dipped out without a word, that's next level shady.
