Why does nobody talk about how "The OA" deserves a proper ending more than any other canceled show?

I've noticed people keep pushing for revivals of shows that already had a decent wrap-up, but The OA ended on a literal cliffhanger in season 2 and the creator said seasons 3-5 were fully mapped out, so am I the only one who thinks that's a bigger loss than something like Firefly which at least got a movie?

Used to roll my eyes every time someone brought up The OA. Thought it was just another artsy show that got cancelled because nobody watched it. But after actually seeing both seasons recently, I get the frustration now. The way season 2 ends with them jumping into that new world and the whole story just stops is brutal. Really changed how I see the whole debate, Firefly got a movie to close things out but this show got nothing.

Right there with you on this. The OA's ending was a punch in the gut because it literally stopped mid sentence of a much bigger story. It's wild to me that something like Firefly got closure with a movie but The OA just hangs there with all those threads dangling. That third season setup with the alternate dimension stuff felt like it was just getting started.

Nail that coffin shut a little tighter why don't they. Netflix really just threw that whole universe in a ditch and walked away whistling. Guess we're all just stuck doing those interpretive dance moves in the dark forever.
