Watch out for that new 'fast set' construction adhesive at the hardware store

I grabbed a tube for a quick trim job last month, thinking it would save me time waiting for things to dry. It set up way too fast, like in under a minute, and I messed up the placement on a $120 piece of custom crown molding. Had to cut it all off and start over, wasting the material and the $15 adhesive. Has anyone found a good brand that gives you a little more working time?

Ugh, same thing happened to me! That stuff is way too aggressive for any careful work.

Maybe it's aggressive because it's meant for a completely different job.

Yeah that "too aggressive for careful work" part is so true. I switched to the blue can for detail stuff and it made a huge difference.
