CMV: Parents who require every student to raise a hand before speaking are wrong
I taught 7th grade for 11 years and only tried full hand raising once, for 3 weeks in 2022, and the quiet kids stayed quiet while I wasted 5 minutes a class on hand picking. Now I mix it up, and my shy kids talk way more than friends of mine who teach the strict version claim is possible. Anyone here actually run both ways and see a real difference in who speaks up?
