My barber in Boise said something about tipping that made me rethink the whole thing
I always thought tipping 20% on a $30 cut was fine, but my barber Marcus in Boise told me he'd rather get $5 cash than a $7 card tip because of the fees and taxes. He said cash tips are the difference between buying lunch that day or waiting until payday. I still tip on card sometimes but now I keep a few fives in my wallet for him and my regular spots. Does anyone else change how they tip based on what the person actually says they want?
