My old Hobart mixer finally gave up the ghost during a holiday rush

The motor just seized up halfway through a triple batch of brioche dough. I had to finish the knead by hand, which took me right back to my first kitchen job in 1998. Anyone have a lead on a reliable repair shop in the Cleveland area?

Remember that time my car died in the drive-thru line at the bank? That's what your mixer story feels like. Total betrayal at the worst moment. I had to push it into a parking spot while people honked. At least your dough got finished, even if your arms are killing you.

Actually pushing your car out of the drive-thru sounds kind of lucky. You got a clear path to a parking spot and avoided a tow truck bill. My mixer died right as I started a double batch of bread for a party, so I had to knead it all by hand for forty minutes. That felt way more personal, like my own kitchen turned on me. At least with a car you can call for help and everyone gets why you're stuck.

Oh man, that car situation sounds way worse! It reminds me of when my old laptop battery swelled up and died right as I was trying to print my boarding pass at the airport. Had to run to a help desk while my flight was boarding, total panic.
