My neighbor did her bathroom floors with acid stain last summer and it turned out nowhere near as wild as I thought it would lol. It's funny how we have these strong opinions about stuff before we actually see it done well in person. I feel like that's most things in life honestly - you hear "acid stain" and picture some chaotic mess, but really it's just another tool if you know what you're doing. Same with shiplap or those giant clocks everyone used to put in living rooms, you see one bad version and write the whole thing off forever.

My buddy Mike had the same thing happen on a developer forum last month. He posted a detailed bug report about a memory leak in his database connector. The AI flagged it as "abusive content" because he used the word "crash" 3 times. He spent a whole afternoon trying to figure out why nobody responded to his thread. Turned out the filter just buried it with zero notification. Eventually he had to DM a moderator on Twitter to get someone to look at it. The moderator laughed and said the AI was too sensitive after a recent update.

Ugh, I did the exact same thing last month and ended up with sad, dense little rocks instead of croissants! My kitchen smelled great but the texture was just completely wrong.

My roommate used to stack all the mugs right side up too and I'd open the dishwasher to find little pools of coffee sludge in EVERY one. Drove me absolutely nuts. I finally just started flipping them all over before I ran the load and he never even noticed. The worst was when he put a pyrex dish flat on the bottom rack and it collected a whole puddle of greasy water that leaked onto the clean dishes below. Some people just don't see water physics I guess.
