TIL a brush spinner is way better than hand spinning on a tall flue
I did a 3 story flue in Denver last month and tried hand spinning the whole way. Arms were shot after one section. Buddy loaned me his Sooteater brush spinner and I finished the rest in half the time. Anyone else switch and never look back?

You ever try to muscle through a flue that just keeps going? I did a 4 story walkup in Chicago last winter and thought I could save money by hand spinning. Got halfway up and my right arm was screaming. Had to call a buddy to bring his brush spinner over and we knocked out the rest in 45 minutes. My advice is to pick one up used if you can find it, or rent one from a supply house for a day. It saves your shoulders and keeps the job from turning into a nightmare.

You ever have one of those moments where you realize you've been doing things the hard way for years and feel like a total goober? Because that was me last week with my first brush spinner. I kept thinking hand spinning built character or something but really it just built a lot of grumpy muscles. The Sooteater turned my miserable 4 hour job into a breezy hour and a half. Now I tell every new guy to just borrow one before they wreck their arms like I did. My elbows still twitch when I think about that first 3 story job.
