I was scrolling the city transit page Tuesday morning, bored on my usual ride, and found out our bus system moves 98,000 people a day. That's more than the population of two of our neighboring towns combined, crazy to think about. But the really dumb part is that number is 40% lower than it was in 2019, before everything went sideways. I sat there counting heads on my bus, like 14 of us, and tried to picture that many folks all shuffling through downtown. How do we get riders back without just jacking up fares, because I can't afford another dollar per trip? Has anyone else peeked at the transit stats and felt both impressed and sad at the same time?
