Vent: the deli guy on 8th told me no one talks on my block anymore, and he was right
Stopped by Sal's on 8th for a egg sandwich last Tuesday and he asked how the block group chat was doing, said he used to know every family on the street when he ran the register 20 years ago. I pulled up my phone and we scrolled through it together, 400 messages, all of them were people asking if anyone had a package or complaining about parking. Does anyone here actually talk to their neighbors face to face anymore, or did we all just move the block onto a screen?

Waited 400 messages and not one person said hey lets grab a beer? That is wild. I counted like 30 parking complaints in my own building chat last month and zero invites for anything. Sal knowing every family 20 years ago and now nobody even waves is kinda sad honestly.
