Hot take: Back in the day, we just opened windows for fresh air.
Now I check the air quality index before letting my kids play outside. The smog from traffic has gotten so bad it triggers my migraines. It's wild how normal it's become to factor pollution into daily health choices. This crap is why I push for bike lanes and electric buses in town.

Yeah, when park.abby said they check the air quality app more than social media, that HIT home. I saw a report on the news about how even short time outside in bad air can actually harm kids' breathing for years. It's crazy that we have to think about this just to let them play. We're treating a major health problem like it's just normal weather. That's why pushing for bike lanes and electric buses is SO important, it's not just a nice idea. Real change can happen if we make enough noise about it.

Ugh, tell me about it! I drive for a living and feel bad adding to the smog, but my work is finally getting some hybrid vans. Now I check the air quality app more than my social media, lmao.
