Our local creek's pebbles are way more interesting than I ever thought
Honestly, I was just skipping stones at Miller Creek last weekend like I always do. Tbh, I never paid much attention to the rocks until my kid asked why some were smooth and others rough. Ngl, I started looking closer and saw all these different colors and patterns in the pebbles. I found out they come from upstream where there's a mix of granite and slate deposits. It's cool to think each rock has traveled and been shaped by the water over years. Now I can't walk by without picking up a few to check out their stories. This whole thing has made my simple walks way more fun.
