I tried no-mow May in my yard and got way more bees than I expected

I let my lawn grow for the whole month of May in Portland and counted 15 different types of bees hanging out in the clover and dandelions. My neighbors probably think I'm lazy but honestly I'm thinking of doing it again next year. Has anyone else seen a big bug bump from letting things grow wild?

Portland has 20 plus native bee species actually.

20 plus native bee species" that's interesting. Are any of those species actually struggling or declining in the city, or is that number just a baseline that includes all the common ones? I'm trying to figure out if that stat means Portland's doing something right or if it's just a random fact.
