I used to think my old gas mower was fine because it still ran
The moment came when I was filling the gas can for the third time that month and my neighbor's kid asked why my lawn smelled like a car. I switched to a manual reel mower the next week. Has anyone else found a simple swap that cut down their fuel use?

Ever notice how many things we run on gas or power just because we never stop to ask if we need to? I swapped my leaf blower for a rake and it's honestly less annoying now, no cord to drag around. My buddy got rid of his gas trimmer for old school shears and says his yard looks better. It's like we added all these engines to basic chores and called it progress.

Seriously, my electric edger died last fall and I just never replaced it. The manual one I grabbed at a yard sale takes a bit more muscle, but it's quieter and I'm not fighting a cord or battery life. Sometimes the simpler tool is just less hassle.

Yeah, my electric can opener is basically a paperweight now.
