Last week I caught myself washing plastic ziploc bags in the sink like it was normal

I was scrubbing a bag that had old sandwich crumbs stuck in the corner, and I realized I've been doing this for YEARS, never once thinking about how much water and soap I'm wasting compared to just reusing a container. My roommate walked in and gave me this look, and it hit me that I'm fighting the wrong battle. Has anyone else found themselves doing some weird eco-habit that actually doesn't help?

Heard my buddy brag about using cloth napkins for a whole year to save paper. Then he admitted he throws them in the wash after one use, so he's basically doing a full load of laundry every three days for napkins alone. I did the math once and that's like 40 gallons of water a week just for wiping his mouth. He switched back to paper towels and his water bill dropped by half. Sometimes the "eco friendly" option is just trading one waste for another.

But cloth napkins can be used for way more than one meal though.
