Serious question, how do I tell my neighbor his leaf blower is undoing my 3 years of native planting?
I was out front on Saturday morning mulching around the 40 native plants I put in over the past 3 years when my neighbor fired up his gas leaf blower and blew a pile of leaves straight into my beds. I walked over and asked him to point it the other way, and he said leaves are natural so it does not matter where they land. What he does not get is that a thick layer of leaves smothers the little bluestem and the bee balm I planted, and his blower also strips the fallen leaves that my soil needs. I do not want to start a fight over a lawn tool, but I also cannot keep re-raking the same corner every weekend. Has anyone had luck talking a neighbor into switching to a rake or an electric blower?
