Tried beeswax wraps vs plastic wrap for a month here's what happened

I decided to do a little test in my kitchen in Portland last month. I bought a set of beeswax wraps from a local maker and used them for everything instead of plastic wrap. Honestly, they kept my cheese and cut veggies fresh just as well for about 5 days. The big difference was after two weeks the plastic wrap got thrown away but I just washed the beeswax ones and reused them. I spent $18 on the wraps and usually I go through a $4 box of plastic wrap every 3 weeks. Anyone else tried switching and found it actually works or did I just get lucky?

Wow, $18 for a set? That's a lot more than I'd have guessed. But I guess if you're not buying plastic wrap every three weeks like @casey16 said, I could see it paying off in the long run. I tried them once and they lasted maybe a month before my butter knife wrecked them.

Beat plastic wrap hands down for keeping bread fresh.
