Can we talk about manual tool touch off versus using a probe

Honestly, I ran a job last week where I used the Renishaw probe for all my tool offsets instead of my usual paper feeler gauge method. Ngl, the probe cut my setup time in half and the parts came out within a tenth every time. Has anyone else made the switch and seen a real jump in their first-part consistency?

I was a die-hard paper gauge guy for years, thought probes were just for show. Broke down and tried it on a run of aluminum brackets, and the difference in repeatability was impossible to ignore. My scrap rate on the first part dropped to zero. I still keep the feeler gauges around, but the probe does the real work now.

Wow, @perez.derek, that reminds me of when I finally switched from hand-mixing paint...
