Just read that some shops are running lights-out machining for over 100 hours straight. Found that in a trade magazine article about a shop in Grand Rapids.

Actually, that's pretty standard now. The article probably meant lights-out shifts, not a single 100-hour run. Most shops with that setup run unmanned overnight and weekends, so hitting 100 hours of total unattended time across a week is normal. Still impressive they have the process dialed in that tight.

Sounds wild but makes sense. If the process is solid, why not let it run.
