Saw a guy spend 20 minutes dialing in his feed rate and then ran the wrong G-code anyway

Been doing this since 2008 and I still see people ignore the simple stuff like checking their tool offsets before hitting cycle start, has anyone else noticed the basics going out the window with newer operators?

fr tho it's not just machining, it's everywhere. i noticed the same thing at the drive thru the other day - kid spent 5 mins messing with the register and then handed me someone else's order. feels like everyone's rushing through the steps but skipping the actual check part. people just wanna get done fast instead of getting it right.

Gotta admit @oscar_ellis, I've done that exact thing myself (took a wrong order, not the register part). Guess I'm part of the problem, lol.

Is it really that big of a deal though? We all grab the wrong order by accident sometimes, it happens. Like who hasn't gotten home with the wrong coffee or a bag that had someone else's fries in it. It's not like the kid at the drive thru is trying to mess up your whole day on purpose.
