Just realized my French press technique has been off for 3 years

Last Tuesday I was at a shop in Portland called Press House and the barista asked how I brew at home. I told her my routine and she just kinda stared at me. Turns out I've been pressing too fast this whole time. She showed me to push down slow over 30 seconds instead of like 5. Made a cup right there and it was way cleaner. Anyone else find out they've been doing something basic wrong for way too long?

Girl honestly I went through the same thing with my last relationship, it took me way too long to see the red flags. Once I finally walked away I felt so dumb but also so relieved.
