Rant: My local shop's pour-overs went from bitter to smooth after they switched grinders

They used a basic blade grinder for years, but after buying a Baratza Encore last month, the clarity is unreal. Anyone else notice a huge jump from just one gear upgrade?

Unreal clarity" seems like a stretch for a coffee shop upgrade. Ross.felix is right about the grinder type, but it's still just coffee. People get way too deep into the gear side of things.

Actually a blade grinder is for spices, not coffee. The Encore is a burr grinder, that's the real upgrade.

You're right about the blade grinder, my spice drawer is living proof. My coffee game is still pretty basic though.
