TIL a GC in Nashville told his foreman to skip the compaction test on a 400 foot sewer run
I was grabbing lunch at a job trailer outside Nashville and overheard a GC on the phone telling his foreman to skip the density test on a 400 foot sewer trench because the inspector was already gone for the day. He said they would just backfill and hope nobody noticed the paperwork gap. I wanted to say something but I was just the electrical sub waiting on a panel drop. That kind of shortcut is how you end up with a sinkhole under a parking lot in two years. Has anyone here actually walked off a site over something like this, or do you just document it and move on?
