inTbh I miss the old controller rooms that had actual diagrams on the wall.
My buddy at the 5th and Main plant still keeps a laminated riser diagram taped to the wall behind his tablet mount because he got sick of the same scrolling issue. I started taking a photo of the whole schematic with my phone before starting, then I can zoom in and out without losing my place. Works way better than the tablet app alone for tricky faults, you should try it.

inJust realized I've been folding my fitted sheets wrong for 40 years
Oh man hold on, I gotta gently push back on something. The trick where you tuck the corners into each other is good but it's not actually the fastest way. The real pro move is to put your hands inside two adjacent corners, flip one inside the other, then do the same with the other two corners. Then you just fold the whole thing down into a rectangle. My wife showed me this after watching me struggle with the tuck method for like 5 minutes. It sounds complicated but once you do it twice it becomes muscle memory. I can fold a fitted sheet flat in like 30 seconds now without even thinking about it.

inOverheard a debate about AI hiring tools that changed how I see job apps
Yeah, that's a rough way to lose out on a job you earned.

inTried my old Snap-On scanner against the cheap Amazon one and it's not even close
Ever notice how cheap tools just give you the answer you want instead of the real one? It's like those $20 blood pressure cuffs at the drugstore that tell you everything's fine when you're about to keel over. We've all been burned by trusting something that costs less than a pizza night (and honestly, sometimes less reliable too). I've started thinking of it as the "discount-reality gap" where the only thing cheap stuff is good at is proving why you should've spent a bit more. My buddy's uncle calls it "false peace of mind for half the price" and I can't argue with that.

inI swore by thermal paste reapplication every 6 months until I tested it myself
Used to think fresh paste mattered way more, but that's pretty convincing honestly.
