Tried a dustless grinder on that parking garage job last month
Rented a Hilti dustless grinder for a garage ceiling repair and figured the vacuum would clog up after 10 minutes. It ran the whole 3 hour shift without losing suction or bogging down. Has anyone else had good luck with those over the cheap dust shrouds?

Right?! That Hilti dustless setup is unreal, I used one on a parking garage ceiling last month and it didn't clog at all, just ran and ran the whole job without me having to stop.

I rented one of those Hilti dustless grinders for a parking garage ceiling patch last fall. Honestly, I was skeptical too after dealing with those cheap shrouds that clog in 15 minutes and leave dust everywhere anyway. That Hilti ran for a solid 4 hour shift without skipping a beat, and the vacuum only filled up maybe a quarter of the way. The suction stayed strong the whole time, which surprised me because I usually have to stop every 30 minutes to unclog the shroud. It really changed my mind about spending money on good dust control gear.

The Hilti suction is legit no doubt but the vacuum itself is more like 3/4 full after 4 hours on a ceiling job, not a quarter. I ran one on a similar parking garage deck last spring and the dust collection was solid but the bag definitely wasnt that empty. Still a beast of a machine though.
