Hit 200 hours underwater last month and something felt off
I'm a inland commercial diver doing bridge and dam work mostly, and I hit 200 hours logged underwater last month. That number didn't mean much until I sat down and realized that's like 8 straight days of being submerged (you know, with no real sunlight). It hit me that my buddy Dave who's been at this 15 years has probably done over 5,000 hours down there. But here's what got my attention - my hands started feeling weird after long dives, like a tingling that wouldn't quit. Turns out my drysuit wrist seals were too tight and cutting off circulation over time. I've been loosening them up and it's way better now, but I never thought about that as a real problem until I hit that hour count. Has anyone else noticed weird body stuff after passing certain hour milestones? I'm curious about what else I might be missing.

And it makes you think how many little problems we just live with because we don't stop to notice them. I had a similar thing with my own hands after years of knitting. Same tingling, same numbness. Turns out I was holding the needles too tight for hours at a time. @rose_cooper mentioned once that your body will tell you something is wrong, but you have to actually listen. It's like with my gardening boots too. I had a pair that pinched my arches something awful, but I just figured that was normal until my feet started cramping at night. We get so focused on the work or the hobby that we ignore the small warning signs until they become big ones.
