inJust realized my old way of testing the governor rope grip was wrong after a scare in a Boston high-rise
Happens with so many things, like trusting a wobbly shelf instead of checking the bracket.

inMy buddy in Portland said my pour-over method was basically just making hot bean water
Wow, that's a solid catch by your friend. So when you slowed down your pour, did you also change your grind size at all, or was it purely about the timing? I'm trying to figure out which part made the biggest difference for the flavor.

inHot take: I swore by my old climbing line for a decade, but after a buddy in Seattle made me try a 24-strand double-braid for a week, the difference in grip and wear on my hands was night and day.
My old climbing partner did that and his gear sounded like a wind chime in a storm.

inMy bullet journal got soaked on a camping trip in the Ozarks
Okay but like, it's a camping trip in the Ozarks. Stuff gets wet. I mean, it's a notebook, not the family photo album. You dried it out, you can still read it, right? The warping just gives it character. My old planner got coffee spilled on it and now it has a cool stain pattern. Maybe it's just me but I feel like people take these journals way too seriously sometimes.

inAppreciation post: my friend told me to stop chasing every new social media trend and focus on email marketing instead.
When my old car kept stalling, I tried all these complicated fixes. Finally my neighbor said just clean the throttle body. Took me 20 minutes and a can of cleaner. Cost ten bucks and it ran perfect. Sometimes you just need the basic step you skipped.
