My uncle swore I could just drive my car onto the trailer in 10 minutes, that was a lie
My uncle Ray has moved maybe 30 cars in his life and he said loading my Civic would be a 10 minute job. I got a U-Haul trailer in Dallas and spent 40 minutes on the ramps because the car kept bottoming out at the top of the ramp. Turns out I had the ramps at too steep an angle and one of my front tires was half hanging off the edge. Finally got it strapped down after a guy at the lot came over and showed me to back the trailer up onto blocks first. Has anyone else had a car scrape like that, or was it just my low front bumper?
Low front bumpers are the worst for this, my old Jetta scraped every single time until I started doing the block trick too. The trick is you gotta raise the trailer tongue so the ramps sit flatter, which sounds like exactly what that guy showed you. Longer ramps help a ton if you ever rent again, the short U-Haul ones are brutal on anything that sits low.
